This is the 6th book in the out of uniform series. I have read all the books in the series and IMO, this one was not as good as the other ones. I wanted to read about Matt and his story, but there really wasn't too much drama going on. Matt is a likeable guy, who loves no strings affairs, and soon finds himself attracted to a girl who is just like him. Savannah was a bit of a conflicting character, she was independent, yet she had lots of fears and hid behind casual affairs. It was a bit difficult for me to see why Matt simply couldn't live without her. There was not enough character development for both Matt and Savannah. They both seemed right for each other, but for some reason their story was not as exciting as the other ones. The love scenes were pretty steamy.I also noted that the other characters from prior books were not as present in this book as they have been in the past. The book briefly goes through what the others have been up to, but they no longer play a part in the story, which to me, was the really cool thing about this series. It was like a never ending soap opera about this huge group of friends. I read this book and enjoyed it, but probably won't re-read it for a while.

I loved loved Matt, but just could not connect with Savanna. The story has hot sex but story line was lacking.
There was nothing too "Wow" about The Heat is On. It was well written, cute, fast paced and enjoyable. Hardly memorable, but Ms. Kennedy can always be counted on for giving her readers a charming story to lose yourself in for a short while.
This is one of those stories.
I have enjoyed the series. However, Matt's story was very disappointing. Savannah was totally unlikeable. I love romances, because of happy endings. Yet for the first time, I would have been more satisfied if Matt had told her to get lost. He deserved better. This story doesn't even qualify as a romance.....sex, sure, romance, NOT!
Another threesome. Never thought I'd be eager to read about that but there I was enjoying it! Very hot and sexy. However, I feel the price is excessive for 95 pages but, once again, I was hooked.

Read this story for the sex scenes. They're pretty awesome. The plot isn't complex but that isn't what this book is trying to provide. My only objection is the premise at one point that you are being selfless and truly loving if you engage in a threesome with the woman you love. Call me old-fashioned but I don't buy it!
Ok...I am really enjoying this series and know this is extremely nit picky but a person's bicep is not in their forearm. The other thing...I do not believe the author has ever been to San Diego or Coronado. There is no sand on Coronado beaches that is powdery and white and the water is never warm. The beaches have regular old sand or dark sand with sparkles (mica) in it. I truly enjoyed other aspects but when it comes to inaccurate facts it is hard to forget them.
